In the village of Velivayal earth movers are being deployed to prepare the ground for the building of the Palk Bay Social Information Centre (PBSIC). Sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the house will be built on a raised clearing which will be monsoon proof and serve as emergency accommodation during storms.

DEEPWAVE will be recieving 37.500 Euros for the building of a structurally complete shell to serve as an environmental and social centre in South India.
DEEPWAVE and it’s project Mangreen have taken part in the competition of Startsocial e.V. in the year 2009 and have won an advisory grant. From the many participating organizations, one hundred winning teams were established, and these will be accompanied by a team of two coaches, in order to work out a lasting solution to a particular social problem.
Three billion people exist on less than €2,- per day. Drought, floods, accidents, and illnesses threaten their daily life, or their homes and possessions.
